Valentine's Day
Everyone has thier own way of celebrating Valentine's Day, but one thing rings true no matter where or who you are..... Love. Some are more traditional and some not so much. Some people think this is a trumped up holiday. I think we should show our love year round, but this is a day to remind us and others just how much we love each other. So I will be spending the day with my boyfriend and he is cooking me a romantic dinner. You don't have to do anything special just so long as you spend the day with the people you love most.
How to say "I Love You" around the world:
Danish Jeg elsker dig
Dutch Ik hou van jou
Esperanto Mi amas vin
French Je t'aime
German Ich liebe Dich
Indonesian Saya cinta kamu
Italian Ti amo
Japanese Aishite imasu
Latin Te amo
Mandarin Chinese Wo ai ni
Polish Kocham cie
Romanian Te iu besc
Russian Ya vas liubliu
Spanish Te amo
Swedish Jag alskar dig
Turkish Seni seviyorum

"Heres Your Sign"
I am a server at Denny's on the overnight shift and I get the dumbest questions. These are the times where I hope that my facial expresions do not look like what I am thinking, lol. Here are some examples.
Customer: Do you serve breakfast here?
No, this is Denny's, but no we only serve steak.
Me: How would you like your eggs cooked?
Customer: With the yolks.
Ok well now that we have established that you don't want egg whites.
Me: Can I get you something to drink?
Customer: No, just water.
Ohhh right, because you don't drink water you snort it.
Customer: Does the water come with ice?
Nope, we only serve it luke warm here.
Customer: Can I substitute french fries for some chicken strips?
Oh yeah sure, how about a steak while your at it.
I love it when people point to things on our menu and ask "Do you serve this?". No we just put it on there to tease you.
And my newest favorite: The restaurant is full of customers and employees at about 3am and someone walks in and asks "Are you open?". Nope, we just like our jobs so much we come up here on our days off in uniform to watch the place. I get atleast one person a night who asks me.
It is an interesting shift to work on. Through all of those little things and all of the other annoying things I love that shift. We never have a dull night.

Anna Nicole Smith Dies at 39
Anna Nicole was found collapsed in her room at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood Florida today. CPR was preformed to try and keep her breathing and she was incubated until they could get her to the hospital. She died an hour after being transported to the hospital. She was found in her room by a nurse who called 911. They are still waiting on the cause of death and are unsure why there was a nurse with her. There are of course rumors that is was to do with drugs. They said the call was of a cardiac nature. Some are saying it could have to do with that amount of stress she has been under lately.
This family has some terrible carma following it around. All these deaths in such a short time. And now where is the baby going to go since the DNA test has not been done yet? Howard Stern is on the birth certificate as the legal father, but we will see how the test comes out. Then there is the money issue. The money started with a man who is dead. It was given to Anna who is now dead and then contested by the son who is now dead. So how do the courts figure this one out. Now the only people left to obtain this money will be her daughter and/or lover Howard Stern (they are not actualy married). Did she leave a will? Even if she did leave a will leaving the money to someone specific is she able to will money to someone that she does not actualy have?

Eternal Embrace
Archaeologists in Italy have discovered a couple buried 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, hugging each other.
"It's an extraordinary case," said Elena Menotti, who led the team on their dig near the northern city of Mantova.
"There has not been a double burial found in the Neolithic period, much less two people hugging -- and they really are hugging."
Menotti said she believed the two, almost certainly a man and a woman although that needs to be confirmed,
died young because thier teeth were mostly intact and not worn down.
WOW... I think this is inspiring to say the least. Through all the changes in this evolving world one thing has never changed... Love.

September 11th
We are comming up on the 5th anniversary of a day so horrible and etched in our minds forever. I still remember every detail of that day as if time itself stood still. It was the day I feared would be the end of life as we know it. In many ways it was. Our entire world has changed in every way since, never to be the same again. I am indeed a part of the demographic that flocks to truth in television. I love those "inspired by actual events" movies. That being said, I think the way this day is being marketed is horribly distasteful. The worst example I have seen so far is that on Monday the 11th this year, CNN will play the entire footage from that day in real time, from start to finish. My question is "Why"? As if any one person could possibly forget any detail of that frightful morning. Why do we need to see it replayed like that? It is already everywhere. It is a part of our daily lives.
That is all I will write about this for now, but I would like to direct your attention to my mother's blog because she writes so well and has such a way of getting her point across that I pale in comparison. I erge you to read her post on the matter and every other post she may write as it is a true accounting of our worlds current events.

Journal Entry
Life is an amazing thing. You never know where it might take you. I think the only true screw up in life is ourselves going against the master plan. We are always protesting against the natural flow of our lives so sure that it is wrong and we are right. i am just as guilty of this at time as the next person, but not this time. For once I am going with the flow, however illogical or unreasonable as it may seem. I have the opportunity to abruptly change my life and I am taking it. My life has always taken so many different directions and I always thought they were the wrong ones, but maybe every seemingly misdirection has been leading me to the one right one. Maybe this is the one, maybe not. Who knows, thats half the fun I think. I am so scared and excited about my next move. It might turn out to be another wrong turn, but thats ok. I am willing to take that chance. Some people think I am always looking for someone to complete me, but they are wrong. I am complete all on my own. I just want someone to share my life with. Someone to make the bad things good and the good things even better.
